Middle Eastern Style Chicken

Prepping for a meal ahead of time isn’t something I am normally good at. This middle eastern style chicken is one recipe that I will make an exception for. This recipe is easy to mix up in the morning before work, and then is ready to grill by the time I get home.


What you will need:

  • 1 cup plain greek yogurt (I use lactose free)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp crushed red pepper
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • zest from 1 lemon
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 2 cloves of minced garlic
  • 2 lbs of chicken, cut into 1 1/2 inch cubes and skewered (I like breast meat, but thighs are better if you like dark meat)

Step 1: Add all ingredients except for the chicken into a bowl. Mix it up!

Step 2: Spread your mixture over your chicken skewers. Cover and let sit in the fridge for 6-8 hours .

Step 3: Grill for 10 to 15 minutes on your preferred barbecue. I use a ceramic charcoal grill for extra smoky flavour.

Step 4: Serve with rice and a salad!
